The basic principle of thermal transfer is to directly contact the ink-coated medium with the substrate. Through the heating and pressing of the thermal print head and the impression cylinder, the ink on the medium is melted and transferred to the substrate to obtain the desired The experience of the print. In addition to fabrics, it can be transferred to ceramics, metals and other products. The main advantage of sublimation transfer technology is that the transfer image is bright and colorful, and the effect can be compared with direct printing.


Generally, thermal transfer is divided into two categories: hot press transfer and sublimation transfer. The hot press printing technology first uses screen printing, gravure printing and other printing methods to print the graphic on the thermal transfer paper or plastic film, and then transfers the image to fabric, leather and the like by heating and pressing. At present, the commonly used hot press transfer technology has four types: high temperature heat transfer, low temperature heat transfer, flocking heat transfer and infiltration foam heat transfer.


Thermal transfer, because the image is heated, the color of the finished image will be stronger than that of the water transfer, and it will not be easy to fade. It has corrosion resistance, impact resistance, aging resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and fire resistance. It can last for ten to several decades without discoloration, so the thermal transfer technology is especially suitable for use on electrical appliances, daily necessities, building materials and other objects that have special requirements for image retention. The thermal transfer image is bright in color and rich in layers. It is suitable for small batch production, and the substrate for thermal transfer has a wide range of choices, making thermal transfer always an irreplaceable position.
