The quality of heating affects the hot press temperature and the process control, and the processed products, following from the way of heating and pressing plate, connecting and sealing for everyone to explain in detail the heating system of hot press.

(1) comparison of heating methods

The traditional heating methods are steam heating and electric heating. Steam heating fast, but the need to configure high pressure boiler, pressure piping, steam is condensed into water caused by the easy temperature uneven; electric heating is heating up fast, high heating temperature, easy to control, but large power consumption, high operation cost, specific use has the disadvantage of resistance wire failure is not easy to replace.

Heat conduction oil heating advantages are: high heat capacity, temperature uniformity, at atmospheric pressure can be heated to a very high temperature, heat loss is small, can reduce production costs, its shortcomings are slow heating, difficult to carry out temperature control. Furniture industry, the general hot pressing temperature requirements are not high, the use of hot water circulation furnace, can also achieve satisfactory results, and fixed investment and operating costs are very low.

(2) properties of hot pressed plate

The performance of hot pressed plate can be evaluated from several aspects. First, the use of platen material, then the precision of processing, and finally the arrangement of media channel in hot pressing plate.

Hot pressing plate is usually made of block pressing steel plate by deep hole drilling, which is mainly used for oil heating and steam heating; the other is using the welding pipe surface after sticking aluminum plate, mainly used for electric heating.  With whole plate can avoid leakage of the seal is not good, and high rigidity and strength, but the hot pressing plate is thick; the latter is usually used as a result of sheet form due to welding and processing will produce stress, high precision requirements.

Control of hot pressing plate thin easy to preheating and temperature, but the processing requirements, the workpiece will cause uneven thickness of plate deformation, affect the machining quality; hot pressing plate is thick, can increase the heat capacity and improve the strength and stiffness, but will increase the size of the compressor and consumes more steel.

At the time of manufacture, should guarantee the flatness of hot pressing plate and the upper and lower surface have sufficient parallelism, flatness tolerance of hot pressing plate should be in the range of 0.1-0.18mm, parallel tolerance should be in the range of 0.15-027mm, plate surface roughness of 3.2 M. The temperature difference should not exceed 2-3 degrees in the whole range of hot pressing plate. If the temperature difference is too large, the moisture content will be uneven, the product will easily warp, and the strength and appearance quality of the product will be affected.

The heating channel of hot medium flow in hot pressed plate is not paid attention to by the furniture industry. The correct circuit design should be beneficial to the flow of hot medium, the uniform temperature rise on the plate surface and the leakage of the heat medium. For the small press used in furniture industry, the single channel double circuit design is generally used, which can meet the requirements of use.

(3) connection and sealing

Proper connection and sealing elements are very important for heat transfer under high temperature and high pressure.

At present, the connecting pipe pressing plate basically in a tube, which is very convenient to connect, the main domestic metal hose, also manufacturers have imported Teflon hose, two kinds of methods can be used for flange connection, anti fatigue performance is better than Teflon hose metal hose. Gasket material traditionally uses asbestos rubber sheet, new materials such as PTFE, winding graphite, etc., the sealing effect is more ideal.
